Every organization lists values. Most of those lists are forgotten three weeks after they’re written. At Pro-EMA, our six values are different — they’re operational. They show up in how we hire, how we spend, how we choose partners, and how we say no.
Accountability
Every dollar that comes into Pro-EMA leaves a trail. Donors get reports. Partners see numbers. Our staff know where every program budget is going. Accountability isn’t paperwork — it’s a culture.
Child Protection
Many of our students and staff have lived experiences with violence. We do not just have a policy on child protection — we have a commitment, baked into every interaction, every event, every decision. No partner, donor, or visitor enters our spaces without understanding what this means.
Compassion
We work with people whose lives have been shaped by hard things. We meet them where they are. We listen first. We never confuse efficiency with respect.
Excellence
Vulnerable young women deserve the best — not what’s left over. Our students train in real kitchens, with real chefs, on real equipment. Our hotel runs at international standards. We do not lower the bar because of where we work or who we work with.
Integrity
We say what we do. We do what we say. If we promise transparency, we deliver it. If we promise impact, we measure it. Our reputation is built on this alignment, and we protect it.
Partnerships
We don’t try to do everything ourselves. We work with local government, with international NGOs, with universities, with businesses. The right partner amplifies our impact. The wrong partner dilutes it. We choose carefully.
Six values. Six daily practices. This is who we are.
